Incense

Incense—derived from the Latin word “incendere” (to burn)—is the modern term for what was originally deemed frankincense. The form and composition of incense, as well as how it is burned, differ greatly. Incense sticks and cones are usually “direct-burning”, whereas granulated incense requires a heat source.
