Ready-2-Grow Bag ‘Enigma’: Striking Looks Meet Powerful Effects
When you see a mature Enigma, you will start questioning everything you know about Psilocybe cubensis. Instead of the typical mushroom body with its cap and stem, Enigma develops into a brain-like, cosmic creation. Its dense clusters could also be compared to underwater corals, which makes the growing process exceptionally interesting.
The strain is rooted in Tidal Wave, and these elite genetics gifted Enigma with superb potency. This shroom can create powerful effects with intense visuals and heightened senses. Users report various feelings; some experience happy and creative vibes, while others are ready to quietly reflect and spend some time alone with their thoughts. The high psilocybin content means moderation is key when enjoying Enigma to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
Our Ready-2-Grow Bag is an excellent choice for those who want to try growing Enigma in the comfort of their home. All you need to do is watch your shrooms grow, and after two months, they will be ready for harvest. This grow bag will impress even seasoned psychonauts and growers. Sometimes, we all need a low-maintenance project that doesn’t require much effort.
The Enigma Growkit requires a bit more patience, as it takes longer than usual to fully mature—expect it to take up to two months.
The grow kit bag should be kept in the shade at 20–25°C. Temperatures above 25°C and/or a disrupted airflow to the filter can suffocate the mycelium and ruin the yield.
All Amazia Ready-2-Grow bags have a small tear beneath the white sticker/plaster. This feature enhances CO2 exchange, creating optimal conditions for healthy mushroom growth.
How To Harvest Your Enigma Mushrooms
You’ve patiently nurtured your Ready-2-Grow Bag ‘Enigma’—now it’s time for the fun part: harvesting! Due to the unique blob-like morphology of the Enigma variety (a true Tidal Wave mutation), harvesting requires a bit more precision than your average mushroom flush. But don’t worry—here’s exactly how to do it right.
Precision Over Power: Use a Scalpel
When it’s time to harvest, avoid twisting or tearing. The Enigma mass forms a thick, dense blob that fuses together across most of the surface of the cake. Twisting could damage the base and disturb the integrity of the substrate. Instead, opt for a sharp scalpel or fine blade for controlled slicing.
Note: Even with a scalpel, some tissue may remain on the cake. That’s normal! You’ll likely need to do a bit of post-harvest cleanup to fully prepare the substrate for any further use.
When Are They Ready?
Unlike traditional caps and stems, Enigma doesn’t give you the classic signs of readiness. Instead, watch for subtle color cues: Once the tips begin to bruise with a bluish or greenish hue, it’s time to harvest. This natural bruising signals maturity and peak potency—don’t miss your window!
Can You Get a Second Flush?
Technically, yes—you can prepare the substrate for a second flush, but here’s the deal:
- A second flush will take around 4 more weeks.
- The first harvest removes most of the mass, so the second round is generally modest
Post-Harvest Clean-Up
After harvesting the bulk of the Enigma mass:
- Inspect the cake for leftover tissue.
- Use your scalpel to gently scrape away remaining blobs.
- If you’re prepping for a second flush, clean thoroughly to minimize contamination risk.
